About me

I'm Afonso Baixo, and I have a Master's in Informatics Engineering from the University of Aveiro. I care about the details, like systems that don't break, code the next person can read, and interfaces that feel good to use.

What I enjoy most is taking an AI model and turning it into something people actually use. A tool that fits into their day, not a gimmick.

I also like the product side of software, from fast interfaces and clean architecture to seeing real people use what I built. I'm looking for a team where I can keep doing both.

Aveiro · MSc thesis project

  • Built a prototype in-store assistant on a Unitree Go2 Pro robot dog, on top of the dimOS robotics framework.
  • Developed the retail skills an LLM agent (Gemini) calls through MCP, plus the FastAPI backend and web chat.
  • Added product memory with vision embeddings and a vector database, so the robot can find products by text or image.
